Independent Arts
Pine Mountain Arts is an independent institute where adults and home schooling and other children of all ages can experience the fruits of Rudolf Steiner’s curriculum in a nature based environment. Most classes are conducted in the tranquil forested mountains and meadows of Big Basin near the Pacific coast, north of Davenport. Other classes are privately arranged in more urban settings in addition to courses at Waldorf schools throughout the United States. Learn More

Forging
The use of meteoric iron was known to the people of Mesopotamia around 2000B.C. and the people of the Shang Dynasty between 1700B.C.and1450B.C.,long before the iron ages which came for different regions of the earth at different times. Learn More

Nature Explorations
Six miles of unimproved, forest road lead from the meadows overlooking the pacific coast to the “Mill site”, where we keep some of our bees and have one of our archery ranges.From there it is only a short, steep climb to the property which serves as the home and heart of the Pine Mountain Arts Institute and outdoor school.
